What is Korea so friggen stupid?

Why are they threatening new york and tokyo when we could litteraly sink their entire country with warheads into the ocean's depths?

Kim Jong IL is using this a playing card (in a way, he is playing poker with us). His country is facing a very bitter winter, his food stores are very low, most of his people (sans his Army) is going hungry, he know eventually Korea is going to be unified...but wants all the power in Pyongyang, as opposed in Seoul (South Korea).

I really doubt Kim has the gonads to detonate nuclear weapons in the US or over Korea or Japan. He risks too much on the bargaining table. Remember...this is a game of brinkmanship...unfortunately we stopped playing this type of game when the Cold War ended back in 1991....Remember...North Korea is nothing more than a nation in a state of arrested development, they still live life like it's 1958!!

PS: you don't need to worry about their missile progam...it's YEARS before they will successfully test fire an ICBM...

Korea isn't the dumb party here. South Korea poses no nuclear threat, and almost all of North Korea has no clue what's going on. Kim Jong Il's not the brightest, but then neither's Dubya. I certainly support our democracy over their dictatorship any day, but I think that one part of the problem is that each country thinks that they're absolutely right and musn't compromise, and a lot of Americans either don't know or don't care about current affairs.

Who believes we would actually use nukes on North Korea. I sure don't. We may as well not have them. With China next door and South Korea attached we can really just blow the North away.

As for stupid, I don't think so. He is already getting oil from China and food from everybody else. He is using nukes and missles as leverage to get more aid. His people are starving in their workers paradise. In the end we'll do the same thing that was done by Carter and Clinton. We'll send him more aid.

We should ignore him, let him starve. Encourage the Japanese to rearm themselves.

I guess Kim thinks he doesn't have anything to loose and it's worth the gamble. Did you ever see those nighttime satellite pictures of Korea, where South Korea is all lit up and North Korea just has a few areas where light shows up. It pretty much just has people and corruption, no industry.

Dude, he's a lot of hot air when it comes to nuking us or anybody because he knows his country will become a parking lot. The real threat from him is selling that technology to the islamic terrorists and letting them do it for him.

They aren't stupid, they have just noticed an odd coincidence that poor, desperate countries wishing for what we have economically that threaten us, get help. And pride stops them from just asking for it. (You don't get to be a world leader by poor self-esteem personity traits) Which is why liberals have people lead for them.
