I read in What to Expect When You're Expecting that mild exercise is a GOOD thing. The point with any form of exercise is to do it in moderation and NEVER work out to exertion. I don't recall anything specific one way or the other regarding sit ups, but I would imagine other forms of exercise would be more beneficial. For one, you're not going to be able to retain your killer abs at this point. You might as well wait until you've had the baby to worry about toning your body. Yoga and moderate cardio, on the other hand, are okay. Buy the book if you haven't already- it will answer a TON of the questions you'll undoubtedly have, and you won't have to lose points on Answers asking them. :)

Don't do sit ups, however if you are a person who is very active and workout already you can keep working out but in moderation speak to your doctor about the exercise that is right for you. they should have pamphlets on exercise during pregnancy at your doctors office they will show you how to exercises without harming your baby good luck

I think situps aren't the best thing. Do pelvic tilts. But yes, exercise unless you have a problem pregnancy and your doctor says not to.

Pelvic tilt: stand straight, don't lock knees!! take a deep breath as you exhale contract your pelvis/stomach muscles. It's hard to explain, but your stomach should move. If you could see someone do it, you'd know. I learned it from the Fit Mama pregnancy workout.

THis video isn't the most entertaining. But the yoga portion feels great!!!

As long as you're not considered an "at risk" pregnancy, you can exercise. Just don't over do it. If you normally do cardio for an hour, drop it back to 30 minutes and remember to drink water and eat.

NO!!! Sit-up's can actually cause a miscarriage....do NOT do sit ups. Your best bet is to walk, jog (mildly), swim, bike, and small weights. Make sure NOT to overdue ANYTHING though a baby is counting on you. They say not to do any kind of exercises that you DIDN'T do before you got pregnant.

My doctor told me not to exercise at all. I had heard i was OK to, but he is the one with MD behind his name, not me. I would ask yours.
