To many the curse of King Tut is still a mystery, to others it
is just superstition, but yet there are still those who truly believe
in the curse. I don't believe in curses.

I saw a thing on mummies last night on TV and the curse of King Tut was explained. Some experts said that the people who first opened the tomb went inside and was poisoned by something in the air that came from decaying bodies of Tut and animals also fruit and other foods. After a short while they dropped like flies. That's why now it's standard procedure to let a tomb breathe for a few days after opened.

For many years, rumors of a "curse" (probably fueled by newspapers at the time of the discovery) persisted, emphasizing the early death of some of those who had first entered the tomb. However, a recent study of journals and death records indicates no statistical difference between the age of death of those who entered the tomb and those on the expedition who did not. Indeed, most lived past 70.
