I sure don't want to have one. I had one 13 + years ago. At this point I feel of course "whatever is best for baby." Its just that I was actually looking forward to labor and delivery and NOT being cut. But I don't know - - - even if I'm induced (which is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 9) it just doesn't seem like this HUGE baby is going to go down into the canal, even following 3 weeks of contractions. They don't hurt - you may think I'm weird but they're a joy! I'm so excited. Well, pray for me, you guys and please give your opinions.

p.s. I trust my doctors - one is out of town - and my hubby who is an internist - - all by my side... I like that one doc said that obstetrics is an "art" more than a science.

Well, I think it all depends on how quickly you dialate and how fast your labor comes on. I went 14 hours and didn't have an epidural, just nubain and pitocin, and things weren't progressing as fast as they liked. When the doctor said that I was either going to get the epidural and vaginal delivery or epidural and c-section... I done everything possible to try to make the labor go faster so I could deliver her.

Hopefully the pitocin (or whatever they are using for your induction), will work faster on you than it did for me so you dont get the c-section. I'm definitely praying for you and... congrats on getting to meet your new baby! I'm all excited for you!

If you want someone to talk to tonight, message me because I love hearing pregnancy stuff, especially since I have a baby who is 2.5 months old !

I would say to be prepared for it. I didn't drop or dialate with my first due to a twisted pelvis and the baby being unable to enter into the canal. There was no way I would be able to deliver.

You sound though like you are already in the right mindset of whatever is best for the baby. Good luck, and enjoy getting to hold that little for the first time in your arms. You have already been holding it for 9 months, but now you get to see what it looks like.

why did they let you go so long, especially after already having one section?
anyway...not necessarily...you never know...every delivery is different and maybe this baby is huge and won't pass through the birth canal, or maybe you will have no problem at all...prayers are with you.
i've had 2 sections and will have third soon...labored with first baby and was stuck at 3 cm for 6 hours...baby was 11 pounds...decided then to never try a VBAC

I went thru' the same boat a few months back. But as long as you try the potusim, and the cervtical tape everything should be a ok. But remember you are the one in labor, you have the choice, unless it is medically needed, you can decide if you want a c-section or not.

You may not necessarily need a c-section. The drugs they use to induce you also help push the baby through the birth canal.

Being induced usually isnt a big deal I have been induced with all three of my children.I would say get the epidural cause they have proven it helps the body relax enough to have the baby. However a c-section today is far more advanced than the ones 13 years ago....Good luck..

The inducement MIGHT work....they usually do. Although with NOTHING (no dilation or dropping) it sounds ,like you have a HIGH possibility for a c-section. I hope everything goes well tomorrow for you and the BABY!! Congrats and Good Luck

Have sex tonight. Maybe the semen will help to ripen your cervix or orgasm will kick your contractions up a notch.

Do you know HOW they plan to induce you? If you have had not dilation or anything yet, I'd suggest talking to them about inserting prostaglandin gel BEFORE doing anything else. And I would NEVER EVER consent to cytotec, especially if you had a previous c/s!

Are you absolutely sure of when you conceived?

well i went 2 weeks past with my first and got induced and he was born vaginally and weighed 8 pds

be aware that you should always try labor first before just sayin hey gibe me an epidural, at least try it without. while it can help speed up progress in soem it can also slow it down in a lot of women!!!!!!!

many people are induced nowadays. Don't worry. Try to relax. I think you have just as good a chance to deliver vaginally as if you went into labor on your own.
