I want to send an e-mail without my name showing on the senders list in their inbox. How can I hide my name? I don't want them to know its me because I plan on playing a joke on this person. Please help

Why don't you create yourself another email account with a fake name?
You can get free email accounts everywhere but two of the most popular are yahoo and hotmail.
Of course if you send an email from an email account and name they don't know, there are big chances that the message will be either identified as junk by the mail system or the other person may be excessively cautious and not even open the message.

How about Yahoo Mail? You get to be on Yahoo Answers and E-mail at the same time.

go to "Options". you'll find that near the upper right hand corner. then, you'll see that box on the left titled "Options". select "Mail".
now go to "General Preferences" (it's like in the center of the page) and the first thing it shows you is how you can change the name you want other people to see. hope this helps!

Sounds like you could go into your settings and delete the name that shows on your mail. If you are talking about your email address... I am not sure. You could set up a bogus one!

Your best bet is to set up another account then. Anyone with the slightest bit of knowledge will be able to see the address the email came from, whether you find a way to hide it in the "from" area or not.

well if you dont plan on them e-mailing u back you could go make another e-mail addresses and put a fake name

You will probably need to set a new temp email account. Because you could change your name but you cannot change your Email Address.

um, i don't think you can unless if you register a new one and make your username mystery or something. just use that account for those joke emails. otherwise use the account that you are using to ask this question. hope it helps!
