I like going dressed as a girl (this may not be as good of a costume for you though - hehe). It's a great costume if your a guy and can be made from things easily found (except this years - this one was harder). I don't do it every year but I have several times know, it's fun to dress like the opposite sex for a day :-). A few years ago I was a hooker. This was my all time favorite costume. I got to wear a leather mini-skirt and high heels. The high heels hurt and were hard to walk in but they were still fun to wear and the leather mini-skirt ... Mmmmmm, that felt great, what a blast. I wore black nylons with it and a sexy black top. I bought the skirt and top at a clearance sale, the shoes from Famous Footwear, the wig from the Halloween section, and the nylons and bra from, well you know (the lingerie section ... very quickly!). I think this was my best costume and all home made. I still have it :-). Once I was a French Maid. I bought a Halloween French Maid uniform from Kmart and then shoes, nylons, wig ect from the hooker costume (re-used most of it). This year, I'm going as a cheerleader. I bought an actual high school cheerleading uniform from ebay. This place is great for Halloween. I found a cool skirt and matching sweater and then even a matching satin team jacket (all from the same girl - very lucky). Then I even found a pair of shoes to go with it. It turned out great, I can hardly wait to wear it this year. There's probably still time to shop Ebay but not much and some things are already pricey for the Halloween season (like wigs, cheerleading uniforms, ect - I bought mine last spring when they are cheaper).

You could go dressed as a guy ... maybe a little boy, a geek, a football player, a groom (get a guy to be your bride), hmmm ... a business man - wear a suit, with a mans belt, a tie of course, mens dress shirt (no blouse), clunky guys shoes and socks (dare you to wear guys briefs - hehe), come your hair back (straight and plain) and NO MAKE-UP. Maybe carry a brief case, oh and no jewelry but wear a guys watch. The better the suit though, the better the costume. That could be a good one.

Here's my Hooker outfit ...

my favorites are CORNY Old fashioned ONES Just like these~

The ghost- sheet with two holes cut out. white t-shirt with shorts
I actually took the sheet outside and sprayed the outside "glow in the dark patterns" it was fun.

Toga Party-Reused that same sheet and put the belt through those holes and wripped it a bit to tie over my shoulder.

The Hobo- Dad's old work clothes and some red circle painted on your cheeks with an old hat with stick with red handkerchief.

The Hulk- torn up bluejeans and paint everything else green.

50's dude or gal- long white shirt with tails out, rolled up dark blue jeans, bobby socks and keds white sneakers, Slick back his hair with Dip-pity Do/ heavy gel and put hers up in a pony tail with red pom-poms. Teach them the hand jive and have them say "cool".
If you have old shoes, then paint them like saddle shoes. I did an entire 50's Halloween bash and we danced to "Grease" all night long and watch Happy day's in the other TV.... Played Twister and had lemonade.

Dancer- leotard with To-to and shoes.

Hey- I was creative and poor coming up. I always made my own.
I was a witch, Minnie mouse, A male Mechanic (won $200), Wynonia (C&W star), The Nanny, A Bimbot (austin powers), last I was an old housewife with curlers. green mask and housecoat..that cost me nothing...and I didn't have to pretend or get dressed!

Take an old dress and cut it to make it look kinda ratty. take ketchup or buy actual fake blood and put it on the dress. Paint your face white and add black makeup for the eyes and lips. Muss up your hair a little and your all ready to be a dead party girl.

1). use a pair of black panty hose and stick old 45 records or double strength paper plates and insert one in each foot. scrunch it up and put the undie part on your head like a hat. You now have Minnie Mouse ears. So continue on and put on big fake eyelashes with lot's of eyeliner. Put on a red dress and go have fun.
another idea.
2) blow up an bunch of green balloons and attach them to you all over put green felt on your head and go as a bunch of grapes.
