AccuWeather.com's long-range forecasters warn that winter 2005-2006 will be an especially cold one.

You can go to almanac online & click on weather,then your zip code or city & state. Also will be the winter forecast found there.
If you sign up for the news letter, they will send you all kinds of good interesting stuff concerning the weather,recipes for the seasons,planting & gardening,etc. Link is below.

if i am to understand what my grand-pa told me many moons ago
that " when the poke berries show early" that means that we in the south should prepare for a harder than normal winter. and they have. i guess the reasoning is the the birds fatten up themselves preparing for the harsh winter by eating the berries.
i guess we will see.
