I am a Flames fan, and was mad at Sundin scoring on Kipper in overtime, but I really had to admire that goal - it was clean and honest, short-handed, and one of the best shots I've seen in years. Also, it completed Sundin's hat trick, and was his 500th goal.

But he beat the Flames... Oh, well.

JW, that was NOT poor goaltending - it was an awesome shot.

- from 70 feet out, fast and straight, top left side. It would have been a fluke to stop it.

Good shot, but I don't think great shot. I mean that was terrible goal tending, as most goalies would have stopped it.

What in the world are you talking about? From 70 feet away, any good goalie should have that shot stoned. The most damage that shot should have done was gain a rebound. Kipper could've stopped that shot. Instead of me telling you click on this link and see for yourself. With how much reaction time he had, he is Good enough to stop that pretty regularly. Although, it is pretty amazing that there are people capable of stopping a 90mph shot.

Plus, goalies do something called cutting down the angle. They come out a lot farther when the puck is far away, so they can minimize the amount of net the shooter can use. Kipper was giving Sundin way to much glove room, and like I said before it was a good shot to the high glove. Kipprosoff should have positioned himself better, as he then would only have move his shoulder or glove a little ways.

The Sundin goal was pretty sweet and quite the accomplishment but he's not the player he used to be. The Leafs rely on him too much and have done so for too long. It's pretty close for him to hang 'em up. As for your Flames...all that talent and they still can't score!!! GO HABS GO!!!

I thought it was cool. To be a hat trick, the winning goal and his 500th goal--that is a hat trick in itself!!!
