It's strongly affiliated with the Church of God. It that's important to you, then WP is your only choice in Oregon, maybe in the entire northwest.
Academically, we never hear much about it; it's pretty much a non-entity. The best college in Portland is undoubtedly Reed, with maybe Linfield second. For universities, there's Lewis and Clark, University of Portland, and Portland State U (which is the only state school, that is, tax-supported, hence a lot cheaper than any of the other choices for Oregon residents).
There may be one or two others minor players in the Portland area, but that's about it.
