i just want to have fun in the costumes, and act crazy, so please dont say that Haloween is an evil holiday, or anything like that.

i am not allowed to go out because my mom says that the candy is pointless! and the school Haloween dance (that i went to last year, which was really fun.) is cancelled because there is a classroom in the gymnasium now because a stupid extension is being built to our school.

do you have any other ideas on how i can do haloween?

thanks!

"Party at your house- byo candy!!!"

Ask your mom if you can have a party at your home. Rent a couple Halloween-ish movies (BeetleJuice, Nightmare Before Christmas, any Harry Potter... if MonsterHouse is out, that would be a good one, too!)

Have everyone bring a bag of their favorite candy, dump it all into one huge bowl. Pop some popcorn, maybe flavor some...

Ask that everyone come in costume, and possibly have a costume contest- Most Realistic, Most Creative, Scariest...

Or instead of movies, you could always play games- Charades, Name that Tune/Movie...Anything that will get people involved.

For a good Halloween twist on a party at home, get one of those "Host a Murder" games. They can be really fun if you have enough people to fill the roles and they actively participate (proper costume and such).

As for the candy being pointless, of course it is! But so is much else in our lives. Is your mom getting rid of everything else that is pointless? The only reason I can see older kids not trick-or-treating is to leave the activity to younger kids and give people a break on how much candy they have to buy!

Aside from the party or trick-or-treat aspect, you can also celebrate by making decorations, sending cards and/or e-cards, and finding ways to scare people. :)

Ask your Mom if you can have a small Halloween party with some friends. Order Pizza and rent some horror movies.

Run around the neighborhood smashing pumpkins and throwing t.p. everywhere. Oh and shaving cream on windshields- your mom's first since she wouldn't let you do a nice activity like trick-or-treating.
