Are you your own best friend, or your own worst enemy? What do you do to try and be nice to yourself?

I can be both -depending on the day or my mood - how my self esteem is but I think as I have gotten older - I have realized that the only person you have for sure in this life is yourself and you have to be your own friend because if you are not or if you don't love yourself - no one else will because then it is harder to demand that respect or even to think that you deserve it.
I try to just remember the little girl I was through my childhood -my innocence and purity - the way I looked at the world then and Itry to protect that little girl - cause inside of us - we are all sill somewhat like children - with those basic yet so vital needs.

I've been both. I've gotten better about being my best friend. I have to depend on outside reference to remind me I'm really not that bad of a person. Sounds kind of psyco, but I spend a lot of time with myself, I don't think people get to do that enough. I need down time, I go out and take photographs, read my bible, play with my dogs, go for bike rides & walks. That is how I treat myself.

I'm my worst enemy because I seem to make everyone angry at me. To be nice to myself I treat myself to chocolate, a good magazine and Answers!!

I'm my worst enemy.
I set really hard goals for myself,including:
No fast food until 1st of January 2008,
No coffee and fried food until the next month.
My weight loss is the best reward for all these goals.

During the day, randomly I say some nice & positive things to myself (Affirmations) in order to create a positive future for
myself and whoever comes in contact with me....and more!
