i have never used a laptop and im getting a little confused. I dont know how to hook up my lexmark printer to my laptop. Does anyone know? I need to print out a paper for school!

Find a print server that accepts your printer and put it on
the lan.

I was also facing same issue with my Lexmark printer. I tried a lot to fix that at last I just visited http://www.printer-techsupport.com/lexmark-printer-support.html and made a call on their toll free. I got great help from a certified technician to fix Lexmark printer related issues only in a single call. You are just a call away to get fixed.

If your printer connection is not usb, than you have to connect it to your laptop's parallel port: it' the largest one.

Or maybe your Lexmark have no cable capable to connect it and if it's so you to buy a usb cable. Yes, some printers are sold without a cable to connect them.

Older printers may use a Parallel port which may not be on your laptop

The wire is a parallel port wire if it looks like this and it would need a port like the one shown

t he small usb a male/b male I plug the small end in the back of my printer and on my labtop has a place on the left side of my labtop for a ubs port . do I instill my plug there, sorry it took me so long.
