I don't remember which site it was, and I checked and checked, but can't find out. Nothing has been emailed to my email address, so I can't check from there. Has this happened to anyone else?

yes, I guess I have to deal with it, but I'm only 15! I'm only a sophomore in high school. I keep getting stuff from Academy of Art University, would they stop sending stuff if I mailed in and requested to have stuff not be sent anymore?

Yes! This is happening to me even as I type this. Today after school I opened up mail from 3 random Universities.

When you put your e-mail into most college websites, they can legally sell/give out your information to other websites and colleges. Don't worry, this happens to most students!

colleges are as bad as credit card offers. (which if the colleges already know your address, the credit card companies are not far behind) Unfortunatly, there is no way to back trace it, so many companies give this information out. The best way to prevent this in the future is to check a sites privacy policy, see if they sell any information whatsoever to anyone, including college or government agencies. Also if you are not filling out something that actually requires your real address... Make one up. Most likely this wont stop until you are past the recruiting age (19-20) because every college wants to get their hands on you.

That's what colleges do. Just deal with it. It'll stop around the time they figure you've picked a college (spring of your senior year). Until then, you'll get plenty of mail, wanted or not. You could always try contacting each college and take yourself off the mailing list, but my guess is that you have better things to do with your time. Just chuck the fliers that you don't want.
