my due date is today and i lost my mucus plug since 2 hours, since then i am getting light back pain on and off.. sometimes it comes in front but not really. i tried timing but its so off no sequence .am i in early labor ?? please help.thankyou

i would like to add that pains come every 15 min then 10 min..sometimes 20 min and mostly in back and slightly in stomach, tummy is very hard since it all started. Thankyou again

You could be but you probably have a while until its time to go to the hospital. When they start to become more regular and more intense and last longer then it's time to call your doctor.
In the mean time just try to relax and you will be holding your new little miracle in no time. I am so excited for you!! Congratulations and good luck and I hope you have a wonderful blessed birthday with your baby!!!! :)

I'll say within 12 - 15 hours you'll be a mama but I'm no doc, go to the hospital just in case it really kicks into high gear. The worse they can do is say it's not time go home and come back later. Anyhow GOOD LUCK!!! and CONGRATS!!!

Congratulations, Mom! This is the day you will remember for the rest of your life! Just relax now and let nature take it's course. Is your bag packed? Any last minute things you want to do that's not too strenuous? Watch some TV, listen to some music...soon the contractions will get more regular (When did your Doctor tell you to go the hospital?)...who is taking you? Let them know what's happening. Relax! As time goes by, they will get stronger and more regular. You will have NO doubt when it's REAL! Let your body do it's job...at this point, you're kind of an observer, just letting things happen naturally! Good luck and God bless!

It is probably the early stages. even in active labour your contractions may not be regular. If you are worried or uncertain go to your Doctor or nearest maternity centre. MY doc told me about a women who had no mucus plug no bleeding, and very light contractions, she came in for a regular appointment and was 9 cm dilated. It could of coarse just be fake contractions though, as i said see your doc that is what they are there for.

too early to go anywhere yet. take a walk if you can. it can still be a while. loosing the mucus plug is an early labor thing. but nothing to worry about. Now if your water breaks whether you are having contractions or not head to the hospital!

You probably are but dont panic. Try and get some rest and see what happens. Not all labor pains come in front..I had a lot of mine in my back. Relax and let nature take its course...good luck with your little one.

This is just the first stage. You may have a while to go yet, especially since your contractions are not consistent or closer together. I would wait for the contractions to get stronger and closer together.

You could be in the early stages, but you WILL know when you are in labor...I promise! Just take it easy, you will need all your strength for labor, and that will be coming soon!

I lost my mucus plug two weeks before I went into labor.....wait until your contractions are about to be timed.......good luck

So it has began! I asked the same question for my aunt a few days ago. When you see blood or pinkish when you wipe, and the contractions come regularly ( you can time them)or remain irregular (you cant quite time them) but get stronger, its time. Congratulations!
