So long as the United States prefers babysitters to educators, absolutely yes, but, when the United States decides to truly educate their young ones and eager post-adolescent young students, then the question would not even cross anyone's mind, including mine. At this point, the United States is no competition to most other countries, and that affects the economy, ecology, and morale of the whole country.

I really don't think this is a good idea. Even if there is a way to lock it up, I think that kids would still try to take it out of the teacher's desk or wherever it is located. I also think that teachers won't know the right time to use them and they may just start using them on the students when they aren't supposed to. Also, some people have died from getting hit by a taser, so you never know how your body will react to it and then the teacher would get in trouble for killing a student and that wouldn't be good.

NO. Thats too much of a liability. Mabye giving school security them, but not teachers. School security should be issued the right gear for the "threat" level of their schools. Mace/Pepper spray/OC Spray, for large fights, Handcuffs for smaller fights as well as large fights, but no tasers. They contain too much voltage on even the lowest forms of them. They could really hurt the kids/teens, and you do not know if they have any medical conditions that it may affect, known or unknown. Also the schools health room should be equipped to handle the effects of the spray if used. Thats is my opinion. But please if they do, make sure whatever personell that use ANYTHING, are trained in the use of them.

I'm thinking a taser wouldn't be much good against a gun. What about a 12-gauge with a full box of ammo?

I don't know that we should go that far,But I believe we need metal detectors in all schools and probably on buses, that would help a lot.And if they would stop putting these kids in the media so much,it might help.It would take some of the thrill away.

No way that is absurd, we should give them an M-16 tactical assault rifle and a 12 guage, And as a last resort an uzi under the desk.

Yes, perhaps more along the lines of protecting themselves from the students.
