I know the one that the Chinese were developing for use in developing countries is US$100, but this are for school use and not power users like us.

The cheapest I've seen recently has been refurbished Toshiba's from tigerdirect.com at $568.36 Canadian Dollars.

about 500 used for something useful if you don't, and yes that's Cdn

useful new still about $1000
