I had a seat motor replaced in my car in July 2005. Today it did the exact same thing when it went out before. What is statute of limitations on auto repairs?

It would depend on the laws in your state as to any guarantee of repairs. Also, although the result is the same, is it indeed the exact same failure. You had the motor replaced. This time it could be the switch.

There is no statute of limitations on cars or repairs or parts or nothing to do with cars.

Ask someone you trust who would they recommend to buy parts from? Take the recommendation and ask for the same part by a different manufacturer.

The auto industry builds parts to last only a certain time forcing you to spend money on parts. It is a vicious cycle. Another thing to consider, is the part under warranty? If so you don't pay a dime.

At best you might get a one year warranty on an electric part and problaly nothing for the labor. I dont know of a statute of limitations on auto repair but I do know that if the customer does not pay a bill a shop can put a mechanics lien on your car and keep you car till you do pay the bill.

Even if you have the same problem as before it would be hard to prove that the last mechanic did anything wrong. Honestly in my opinion its probably not worth doing anything about. Just have to write it off as a loss. Hope this helps!
