He has or had systemic lupus. The doctors had to remove some muscle tissue from his face.

Some African Americans have that. It looks like someone took "bites" from their face or it looks like it has a "burned-like" surface to them. But, because of the way it is shaped on his face, makes Seal look extinguish and handsome. If you took that away from his face, he will still end up a very handsome looking guy.

It's just the texture of his skin - probably acne or pimple type scars.
