Within the next week baby should be up to 3-4oz just try to stretch feeding time out. Let baby get hungry before you feed. I always tried to distract them with a pasifier for a half and hour or so.

darlin, he is 2 and a half weeks old, he needs to eat every 2-3 hours. He will start eating more at about 6-8 weeks and should be sleeping through the night at about 2-3 months. My kids were completely different. My son is almost 1 and he has yet to sleep through the night. It is hard at first mama, but cherish these just you and baby times, try nursing if you dont already, it forms a bond between you and baby that will be stronger than any other. You will miss those days soon enough.

The amount a baby will eat can change frequently my 2 1/2 month old son is up to 6 and 7 oz bottles. More food wont gurantee more sleep though. My son only wakes me up once at night to be fed now. He goes to bed by 1130 and wakes me up are 530 or 600 for a bottle then he goes back to sleep till 830 or 900 but all babies are different.

My son ate two ounces until he was about six weeks and then he went to three. He started four ounces at 10 weeks and is still on four ounces at five months. He will sleep more thru the night the older he gets. How many ounces he eats doesnt really have anything to do with it as long as hes full

Have you tried feeding him more than 2.5 oz yet? You can up the formula to 3oz and see if he will drink it.

Let's see, my twins drank 2oz from 0-2 months, then 3-4oz from 3-4 months, the 5-6 oz from 5-6 months, then 6-8oz from 7-11.5 months.

But remember, the older your son gets, the less bottles he will be drinking during the day.

My twins are 11.5 months old now and they have 1 8oz bottle in the early AM, then oatmeal w/fruit for their brunch, then YoBaby or fruit for a snack, then a Stage 3 meal with veggies at dinner and then, one more 1 8oz bottle in the PM before their bedtime.

Hope this helps you..

feels like a growth spurt to me. commonly a growth spurt happens around 12 weeks or so. My son did this besides as replaced his slumbering types around this age. He additionally shows a super urge for food improve whilst he's on the verge of hitting a "milestone". stable luck! Edit: I consider a prior positioned up with regard to the solids. At approximately 4 months my son acted like he could not get adequate to consume and my pediatrician gave the ok for some cereal mixed with formula (very runny) or mixed with applesauce. A warning that apples and applesauce and apple juice could be a constipator.

Every baby is different I guess, but my son was eating 4 onces at this age. Maybe you should call the doctor to make sure everything is ok.

Let me put it in perspective for you -
his tummy is the size of his fist.
Eating every 3 hours is pretty normal.
He is trying to double his birthweight by 6 months and that takes a lot of food and frequent feeding, including nighttime feeds!

give him a few more weeks, his poor little tummy is not that big and he is only eating what he can handle at this time. Just be patient and let him grow at his own rate.

good luck
