For the past three months, I have been getting a call everyday from a guy named Ruben Schwartz. It is pre recorded. He says that it is very urgent and I need to call him immediately to find out more information. I have been ignoring it, but finally I got fed up and decided to call the number. I called and a lady who could barely speak English answered the phone. She asked me for my telephone number and I refused to give it to her. She became irate and hung up on me. I called her 4 more times hoping to spur some information without giving her my telephone number. I got the same result every time I called her. What is going on here? Does anyone know? By the way, I have No debt, so its not a bill collector!

You have no debt, but have you received your phone bill yet? You may be paying an arm and a leg for the calls.

If you are not paying for the calls, and the person answering the phone can not speak english, it is probably some kind of scam. Block the call and inform your local police to see if anyone else has had this problem.

Whatever it is, you haven't asked for them to call you so don't bother calling them back unless you have a rich, long lost relative who may be leaving you a huge inheritance. LOL

Probably some scam, thouhg you are right not to give your number. I would check on line for some information (try the FBI website) and also report it with what is said, the incoming number (If it's not a blocked id) and the number given. Also 411.com the number and find out it's location. Include that information in the report. Good luck!

I am not sure what it is. Probably trying to sell you some thing. If you don't recognize the area code you can look it up, and at least know what state and area of that state the call is coming from. You can also file a complaint with your phone company as harassment. And they will check it out,

I'd ignore this crazy person and try to report him to the telephone company or the police if the calls persist.

You could call your state Attorney General and see if anyone else has made a comment/compliant about this. Sometimes there are scams like this. I don't know what they could get from you but you might want to report it.
