I'm going on vacation with my family, and I'm a senior in high school. How can I tell my teachers that I will be absent for a week.

Besides the bad example of responsibiity your parents are setting for you by taking you out of school for a vacation. They are not even going to explain to your school why you will be unable to attend for a week???? Explaining to your teachers is not your responsibiity it is your parents. If your teachers ask you tell them the truth & give them your parents phone numbers if they have any questions. Don't lie to them.

As a teacher, I hate excuses. I don't believe them anyway. If I were you I'd just be honest. Tell your teachers you're going to be absent, and assure them that you'll make up the work you missed. All your teachers will care about is that you show an interest in keeping up with the class and doing your work.

There are no good Excuses..never..you should never feel the need to give an excuse for yourself ..whether it be actions..or vacations or whatever...tell them the truth you are going on family vacation..make sure to plan ahead get all your assignments and get your work done ..either ahead of schedule or schedule time each day on your vacation we all have responsibilities and as long as you take care of what needs to be done you don't need to feel like your required to give an explanation for your every decision

Dear teach, I am sorry but I don't have an excuse, I just want to take advantage that I am going on a free vacation with my folks, please give me homework that will cover that week and I will do it when I am sober of nothing else to do. PS: Remember what's happening with people that are not accompanied with friends or trying to get by doing their things by them self. Be on the look-out and very safe, we don't need another tragedy. And I hope is not to Hawaii for now anyway.

Tell them the truth- the best bet is also to ask them awhile ahead of time and ask if they can give you some of the work you will miss while you're away. Then, you can work on it while you are travelling and have less to make up when you return. But don't tell them today and ask for your work for tomorrow. That will only make them mad- teachers need time to prepare.

Tell them that you will be absent for a week because you have family responsiblities that you must fulfill. Make it sound important.

Tell them the truth. Ask them for as many homework assignments they have before you leave, and then ask them to give you your make-up assignments for anything you missed while you were away.

Teachers appreciate honesty and they will go the extra mile to help you.

Tell the truth. You are in a family and must go with your family if there is no one to stay with you.
