A business has to have a ISO to operate internationally. ISO 9000 has to do with standard operating procedures. ISO 14000 has to do with environmental procedures.

I THINK ISO means Intial Stock Offering. A company DOES NOT have to go PUBLIC, and become a Corporation. An ISO can be a PRIVATE sale of company stock to FAMILY members. Readers Digest for example, I think, only made one-tenth of it's value in stock, to the public in stocks. The rest was kept "in-house," probably split among the managers and execs, and CEO.
What the 14001, and 9000 are? I don't know!
