You can derive the formula for v from the formula you gave for d by multiplying each side by v and then dividing by d:

v = m/d

Good luck!

To get v from the mass and density, v=d/m.
However, to calculate the volume of a solid you either do l*w*h, water displacement, or one of the formulas for volume from math.

Multiply both sides by v. vd=m

divide both sides by d

v=m/d

volume equals mass divided by density.

v = m/d

How you get it: Multiply both sides by v and divide both sides by d.

start w/ d=m/v
multiply by v on both sides to get dv=m
then divide by d on both sides to get v=m/d

trick is to get v to multiply and then to get it alone

d=m/v
Multiply both sides by v:
dv=m
Divide both sides by d:
v=m/d
