Hydrogen Peroxide worked for me, although it took a few times to make it work.

Before you do this, test it in a small area behind a door to convince yourself it isn't going to damage your carpet. It won't, but it would be a bad idea to just take anyone's advice here.

Just pour it on the spot and let it foam up, then use a wet vac. Repeat until the smell is gone. Probably take an hour or so.

do no longer USE CHLORINE BLEACH this is going to ruin the coloration in the carpet. flow to the food market and get some Lestoil and a field of granular non chlorine bleach. the position I stay Kroger has both one in each and every of those and the non chlorine bleach expenditures about $2 a field for Kroger variety. blend about a gallon of warm water and upload a million/2 cup of Lestoil and about a a million/2 cup of that granular non chlorine bleach to the nice and comfortable water. Stir it properly, wait 10 minutes so this is going to completely dissolve into the water. Take and positioned that into an popular backyard sprinkle can and soak down the carpet in the spots the position that milk has soured and produced a scent. enable stand for a minimum of an hour. Then vacuum it with a damp dry vacuum. lengthy previous stands proud because the scent. The alternitive and favourite thanks to attempt it is to eliminate that carpet if its a trunk one, and soak it down outdoors with similar brew as above and hose it down with water hose enable dry and reinstall it.

LOL I have the same problem. I just scrubed and scrubed and then let it dry really good. BUT any time it gets wet with any liquid the smell comes back again...so I don't have a permanet solution yet. But to scrub and not get it wet again. If you have little ones that is easier said than done!

Have you tried Febreeze?

Another suggestion I've read on here is to put a bag (or box I guess) of clean kitty litter in there for a while. I don't know why this works, but apparently it does.
