I have heard that it makes your internet slow. How much slower i don't know. I was also wondering how safe it is to use because of viruses. thanks for the help

Actually limewire is safe. It's the programs you install that bring viruses. If it's just music or a video that's fine.
And limewire will make your internet go very slow if you have a modem internet. Get limewire pro that I have and it goes way faster!!! But it's $19.25 per month.

Hi there!
I have Limewire, and it doesn't make your internet connection slower. It's reccomended though that you have a DSL connection or higher, so it doesn't take too awful long to download music etc. Make sure however that you have very good virus protection and spyware software, and a firewall wouldn't hurt either. Since you're downloading files from other people and their computers, sometimes viruses come along with them. I'd suggest getting McAfee protection, it's a little on the pricey side (about $45.00 on www.mcafee.com) but it's worth it. If you're a Comcast cable customer, you can download and install McAfee for free off of the Comcast website www.comcast.com. Hope this helps, and happy downloading!! :)

i use limewire and it doesnt make internet slow, im working off wireless internet though so it might depend if ur using cable dialup or whatever u have. And as far as getting viruses i havent yet got one and i download a sh1t load of music... i mean not for nothing i use it more then the one i purchased which was from safe-share and on that one i had recieved a virus.

It hasn't effected the speed of my Internet connection, probably because I use cable and have 4 Gigs of RAM. I don't get viruses because I use a good anti-virus program. I've used LimeWire for years.

i have never had a problem with it slowing down the internet. i got a virus once but i knocked it out with norton antivirus . popups and viruses usually come while the internet explorer is open. if you plan on using limewire, make sure the internet is closed

You should probably be more worried about the spyware and malware it installs than viruses. Also it can kill your internet connection or if you are on a network there will definetely be slowdowns. You can get viruses from the content you download but now just from installing limewire.

Limewire doesn't slow your internet down unless you have dial up. And i never experienced ant problems with it but always chack for spam and viruses and if you dont hav spam blocker go to

Limewire didn't make my computer slower. Maybe it's because I have all the proper protection.

The viruses r minor, a virus scan will take care of them and my internet is just fine

Limewire is file sharing, 99% of that is stealing.
If you're stealing, don't be surprised if you get more than you bargained for. Spyware, Adware, Virus, Trojan.
It doesn't matter which of the file stealing services you use.
Stealing is stealing!
Don't do it!
