Wikipedia is very reliable for this type of information. It will say if the info doesn't have a source, and this site doesn't say that, so check it out:

Georgia State holds more prestige than Valdosta ... but that shouldn't be your criteria to apply. Take tours of both schools, as well as others. (Georgia Southern looked good to me, and several people in my neighborhood like Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville.) Your whole perspective changes when you see the campus as well as the community it's located in. Go where they have the courses that most interest you. If you're a senior in h.s., you don't have to decide quite yet. Send a few applications in and see who accepts you.
