I did this a few years ago, and it was much cheeper...and I just made the dress simple...but good taste. So any bows make sure they don't make it look like B/M/Dress....You know what I mean...
I had a round ring of flowers also around my head....and it looked devine!
All the best...remember its what you want...no one else.1

I think it would be awesome. A ornate gown is not usually worn in a informal ceremony. Even a cute white dress would be totally cute at a beach ceremony. If you love the dress then do it. I cant wait til I get married...I also want to be married on the beach because it is where me and my boyfriend have the times of our lives. We absolutely love the water and the sand. I had a GF who had her wedding in Maui and she wore a cute dress it wasnt even like a gown or anything it was just like a cute whimsy chifon dress.

That is a great idea. Typically, beach weddings are more laid back, more casual. It's rare to see a bride in a full-on bridal gown with sequens and everything at the beach. They are typically A-line dresses.
To add a nice touch, I recommend a beautoful white or cream silk flower hair clip for you to wear. Check out www.breezybeachwear.com
They have some gorgeous ones and if they don't have anything you like, you can request that one be specially made for you.

Sounds beautiful!! A friend of mine got married on a beach a few years and she had a simple white dress - not a wedding dress - it was gorgeous! It would of even been nice even if it wasn't a beach wedding.
I think it's all up to you. It's your big day - so do what makes you happy.
Congratulations!

I actually like the idea, if you want something simple then that would be good. And at the beach you really dont want an over-the-top dress, but it could go either way. Its your wedding, and you have to wear the dress. Whatever you want!

Absolutely. A-line is flattering for any figure, and a simpler dress is ideal for a beach wedding. Plus, bridal gowns come in so many shapes and styles nowadays that I guarantee you if you don't tell anyone, no one will know. Congrats hon ^.~

I say go for it! You only wear the dress one day...why pay all that money when you have found one that is what you want. If I had to do it all over again....I'd skip the huge wedding and have a simple one and still have an awesome reception! Best of luck!

Positively GENIUS! Why pay more for something simply because it is labeled a "brides" gown. The other gown is simply a rose by another name right? Besides this may give you some freedom to get something new and different from the norm! Go for it girl, and kudos to you for using your brain!

I have a feeling that it won't be to noticeable. If you like it, and goes with the scenery, I say why not? It's your special day, you get to make the choices. No I don't know of anybody who's done this, but I think it would be fine.

Go for it! My gown was secretly a prom dress, but it was exactly what I wanted and miraculously fit right off the rack! Oh, and it was only $200.....
