maybe if you meet a famous mountain biker and want to get married or some off the wall thing like that, but otherwise I don't think it is a big deal and will have no life changing consequences.

Hmm... interesting question. It really depends on what you plan to do in life and your lifestyle. Most people know how to ride a bike and it is considered a "general life skill." It can be really helpful to get around if you don't drive/ can't get a ride, and don't want to walk the distance. But once again, it depends. If you live in the city or plan to, you can just take the bus, metro, etc., while if you live or plan to live in the suburbs, a bicycle may come in handy. Plus, riding a bike can be fun, is great exercise, and does not pollute the environment.
My suggestion? Just try it ;)! I doubt you'll regret it.

Of course it will... i mean what would happen when gas prices and car prices and bus prices go up.... riding a bike is also a good way to excercise and it gets u around faster without harming the environment....

if you want to pay for gas all of your life then perhaps it's time to learn how to ride a bike.

It's fun to do with friends if you're athetically inclined but I suppose a person could still live a full, happy life without knowing how to.If I were you, I would just challenge myself to learn how just to say I can.

If gas prices get out of control, it might not be a bad idea.
