If it is a living thing then it feels pain in one way or another. It brings you back to the question if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it dose it make a sound? I do believe that plants feel in some way. Biologists have said that plants give off a different type of fluid when chopped. I am all for humane treatment to animals but feel that if the Indians could do this with plants and animals not all of it is wrong. Oh by the way has anyone ever heard of talking to your plants to help them grow. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Maybe there is some truth to this plants have feelings thing after all.

That's a good question. As an undergrad in college, I remember my TA was working on a biological study of plant life. He informed me that plants actually "felt pain". Now how they would accomplish this without a nervous system is beyond me, but he mentioned something about "giving off certain chemicals" when "harmed".

*shrugs" Who knows? We still have a lot to learn yet.

Most people feel like they can make a connection with and animal, there aren't many people who make connections with plants. Animals are living beings. Plants aren't. Animals feel pain when you harm them. They run and squeal....plants don't do any of these things because they don't have central nervous systems. Plus that would be why vegetarians are called VEGEtarians. They eat vegetation.

A plant doesn't have feelings, it cannot feel pain, and few people have a meaningful, personal connection to a plant. Plus, they'd likely starve if they were afraid of harming a plant.
