Hi I don't think it is ever to late to learn to play, I live in Nashville and i know a whole bunch of people passed your age who are learning how to play. Good luck with it, all i can say is if you really want to play guitar nothing should stop you especially age.

GO FOR IT!!!!!! I started learning to play lead guitar 3 years ago. I'm 58, and I recorded and put out a CD last year. Find an instructor and tell him what you want to learn to play. Like if you just want to learn chords to strum along with songs. I've been studying jazz and have learned all kinds of crazy stuff....GO FOR IT :)

Sure- if you try hard and practice every day you should be jammin' in 6-8 months. But you need a good teacher.

p.s. Don't go to Guitar Center- they suck.
