The Order Of Operations?

3+3 X 2+2

My mom says you would do the addition first. so 3 plus 3 first and 2 plus two first. but the order of operations is Parenthesis, Exponents Multiplication Division (either one first) Addition Subtraction (either order) so i think you do 3X2 first then add 3 then two. who is right??? im just wondering. because in PEMDAS multiplication id before addition. . .

i was like "mom see in #8 it has the parenthesis not in this one"

(Unless the actual equation is (3+3)x(2+2). then your mother would be right.)

if the problem was originally written without parenthesis, I'd say that you would do the multiplication first, then the addition becuase if they wanted you to solve it the other way, it would be written with parenthesis.
