Try a seamstress shop or tailoring/repair shop if there are any in the area. Or ask a dry-cleaner if they do sewing or if they know someplace that does.

Of course, the best way is to make friends with someone who does machine quilting or embroidery and have that person do you a solid. My mom's next-door neighbor is an AWESOME seamstress--she's who I'd ask if I were doing this. Plus, those embroidery machines can do unbelievable patterns and stuff--you might even see a design you like in the machine's catalog.

Ask around--even upholstery shops could do it. If you know a place that does car interiors (like GAS on Pimp My Ride), they could totally hook you up, too.

They'll sew patches at places where alterations are made, or at dry cleaners near military bases. I'd contact a seamstres and have them hand sewn so the thread doesn't go throught the lining of the jacket.

Leather? - Better make sure they can not only do a professional job - but also they know how to do it, without weakening the jacket - in the 80's I saw a few guys come off their bikes, hit the track......and the jacket split, starting at the stitching around the patches.

Go to a Harley store that sells apparel & ask them. They've done the best jobs around. They have lots of practice at sewing patches on different types of material.

A local alterations business in your area could sew patches on, possibly for less than a taylor would charge.

Most drycleaners have a seamstress on staff. Or look in the yellowpages for a seamstress/tailor.
