My daughter is 38 weeks pregnant, she is dilated to 2 and 80% effaced. She just lost her mucous plug and has been going to the bathroom all day. Does this mean she is going into labor soon? Thanks

Usually when she loses her "plug" labor is either going to be here in a day or a week. It really depends on how she is doing too. DOes she have contractions? DOes her lower back hurt ? Sometimes we can be to dilated to 2 and nothing will happen.
Just telll her we are going for a walk and that will make her dialate more and quickly! Good luck!

labor really happends when you water breaks but sometimes a sign is the mucus plug i was 2 and ready and i had my daughter the next morning , also she will know for sure it is very very painful and she can go to the hospital and she can be check in if she is scared she wont make it i lived about 45 min away from my hospital and i had her 3 hour after h20 broke. congrats on being a grandma you life will change forever and enjoy every minute

I spent most of my labour squatting - that helps! Early labour feels very similar to painful period pains, and you may have a show (a mucusy discharge). Those birthing balls are also great as they help you squat, gently bouce and support your weight so if you can get your hands on 1 do!! All women experience labour differently but it may be just braxton hicks that make you feel tender, sore and your belly feels very firm, but you'll know when you are definitely in labour. If it gets worse throughtout today then its a probable sign you may be! Good Luck!! :)

Is her discharge changing? Because one of the many signs that things are progressing is the discharge changing to a clear slimey-like liquid and she will feel that she has to "clean up". How fast are her braxton hicks coming? Hope I can be more help!

Not necessarily, she will have contractions, remember what those feel like, ouch....if her water breaks call the doc right away, can lead to infection if not admitted to the hospital...good luck

it's possible that she's not... i lost my mucus plug weeks before my baby was born. if you're really concerned, the best thing to do is ask/see your doctor.

back might get sore and the vagina will swollen and sore. your stomach will get tense like youre doijng crunches and will feel like someone is pushing down and sqeezing it. and youll have alot of pressure on your pubic bone. either like its be spread apart or like someone is trying to push a bowling ball thruogh it. it may sound funny but its true........
