See a school counselor about some private tutoring; sometimes you can take sukmmer classes to "tune up". There are learning centers like Sylvan that helps students.

Don't keep your parents out of the loop. Be open and honest with them that you want to succeed, but you are having some problems and you need their help and guidance. Usually one parent will be more open to your request and maybe will help you improve. You understand that your future relies on how you do now, and you don't want to be a failure. You do have goals in life, dreams and hopes, and now you are very discouraged and are reaching out to them. You don't want to let them or yourself down. You feel that you are losing hope for a comfortable future, as far as employment after school.

And if this goes beyond just schooling - your question - then you are simply being way too harsh on yourself. No one living has failed at EVERYTHING - no one! Can you walk? Then you are not a failure. Can you talk? Then you are not a failure. Can you reason, think, plan, hope, dream, love? Then you are not a failure.

God doesn't make junk. God doesn't make failures. If you are feeling this way, it is because you have ALLOWED others to influence you into thinking this way. You are ALLOWING them to control your own self respect.

Get off your self-pity soap box. Stand up straight. Look life straight in the eye and tell everyone and yourself that you have value as a human being, and you are NOT a failure. So you mess up once in a while...don't you think we ALL have?? Stop thinking that your requirement is to be perfect !

Now, get going - and start SUCCEEDING in life!

Well first figure why you are failing, are you studying, do you just not get what the teacher is saying, are you listening? Find out your weaknesses and then find strategies for those. For example, if your reading is not good then ask the teacher to tape record your tests. Maybe you can tape the class or have a study buddy in class take notes for you. It will all depend on what you personally need.

I would first talk to your teachers
~get all your backwork
~ask if you can retake any quiz/tests/essays
~ask what you can do to improve
~stay after so the teacher can help you
~ask for extra credit and say you're willing to try very hard

Get Organized

If all this doesn't work, go to you Guidance/ Schedule Counselor and see if there is anyway you can seek extra help beyond the classroom.

If the classes are way too hard for you, then consider switching down to lower classes

But most of all, don't let distractions get to you. For example; AIM, Myspace, Yahoo, Video Games, Girlfriends, etc....

Make school your number 1 priority right now....you have all summer for the other stuff.

First, pick your worst subject and concentrate on that. (not your worst grade, the one you hate the most) If at all possible, do any extra credit you can. If you are willing to put in the work, you can make your grades improve. Do your home work in that order, starting with the one you dislike the most first. If you are friends with anyone that has a good grade, ask them for help. It is also a good idea to talk with your teachers about your concerns. If they feel you are genuinely concerned about your grades they may help you out. School is hard, but it is nothing compared to what is waiting for you when you graduate.
Good Luck!!

I recommend you figure out what you are failing and get help. Maybe even study more. Many schools offer tutoring. Sometimes, people fail because they have an unlying problem which was never known, such as dyslexia.

Find out why you are failing and then try to work on it. Maybe you need to study harder? Maybe do homework? Whatever it may be, set goals and get help from your teachers and parents. They won't mind.

Get off of yahoo and study more. Ask for a tutor, change Classes. If none of this works. quit school work and McDonalds and live out the rest of your days making minimum wage.

Start asking the teachers for more help. If any of them refuse, go to your counciler for advice on what to do next. But dont try to sound angry because they may view it as a lack of respect for authority. I only wish someone gave me this advice back when I was in school.

Either you dont understand your work good enough (thus you need to talk to the teachers about it) or you are not trying or perhaps goofing off or daydreaming in class.

I dont know you well enough to make a judgment call in either case. Its up to you to decide which catagory you fit. But on the chance you are goofing off, start paying more attention in class.

Sign up for a tutor. Most schools have them. Just check with an advisor if you are in college or a guidance counselor if you are in high school. They are there to help and it will be good for you. There are also tutoring sites on the web to help you. tutor.com, etutor.com and tutormatch.com are just a few.

Don't give up. You may just need to be taught how to study properly and how to prepare for tests the best way for you.
