The hot topic in the UK at the moment seems to be the rise in ''Faith Schools''. Should 120 planned Muslim only schools, be of concern to anyone outside of the Muslim community? Are schools the right place to guide young impressionable minds in strict religious beliefs, or should they be concentrating on academic education? This question is posed in politics and religion to capture both view points.

I think "only" schools should be illegal. You don't have to be Catholic to go to Catholic school. Personally, I believe in integration. People really only get to know people of different cultures at school or work. This segragation disturbs me.

Indoctrination tinged with education. the element is to what point the indoctrination takes effect. Islamic indoctrination takes a intensity that isn't suitable to maximum persons with a loose thinking strategies.. Christianity whilst maybe basically as insidious facilitates freedom of expression and following. If I had to chosen the two i could chosen Christianity because of the fact it facilitates the guy to 'de-%' at will. faith of all kinds could desire to be stored strictly in the domicile and not inflicted on all. that's the place the Indoctrination takes carry.

Indoctrination tinged with education. The point is to what level the indoctrination takes effect. Islamic indoctrination takes a depth that is not acceptable to most people with a free thinking mind.. Christianity whilst maybe just as insidious allows for freedom of expression and following. If I had to chose either I would chose Christianity because it allows the individual to 'de-choose' at will.

Religion of all kinds should be kept strictly within the home and not inflicted on all. That is where the Indoctrination takes hold.

Good Question. I guess it depends on your beliefs. But we had a public school here in the US take some students on a field trip, paid for by the tax payers, to an Abortion Clinic. When asked if they also educated the kids on all alternatives, they said no, they dont want to get into activism with the students.

I'm a person of faith, and belief in education.

BUT I do support seperation of church and state. The gov't should never be funding religous or private schools.

And the gov't, needs to stay out of how religous schools are run.

not until they pose a signifigent threat to your country. If catholic nly universities can exist, and they have every right to, then muslim only school should exist. however the acredidation process should be the same.

I can't wait to see what happens if you try to close them down, unlike Christian schools.
