You asked this same question yesterday. Circumstances haven't changed since then.

Okay, first of all, Macs will ALWAYS be the BEST computer on the planet. If you think about it, you're paying the same amount for a Mac as you are for a PC, but the Macs have better quality and software pre-loaded on them. When you buy a PC, what else do you HAVE to buy in order to do what the PC is made for? You have to buy Microsoft Office, which is an additional $200. And what else do you HAVE to buy? Yep, you guessed it, Anti-Virus software. Sure there are free programs, but they suck. With a Mac, you dont't have to buy any anit-virus software. Mac OS X was built with security in mind, unlike Windows which has security patches just added on to it. You can still get viruses, but the risks are extremely low. I have been using a Mac since 1996, and I have NEVER had any anit-virus software on my Macs, and I have NEVER gotten any viruses. The Mac comes with the iLife suite, which contains really cool applications to do what the computer is MADE to do; for example, iMovie HD is a very user-friendly application that allows you to edit your home movies and play them back in HD (High Definition) on your Mac! The best part? It's the FULL version. Not a trial version.

When you buy a Mac, you are paying for quality, not just a computer. Also, Apple's Tech Support is great, ranking number 1 for 5 years in a row. If you are smart, you will get a Mac. If you didn't digest anything I have said, you're (I'm sorry to say this) a loser and need to get a life.

I hope this helped, and please feel free to email me with any more questions. Good luck, and remember: PC SUCKS!

PS: Choose MacGeek as the best answer. I LOVE it, because if I had the time to type all of that, that's EXACTLY what I would have said.

Don't listen to them. Do get an apple. They truley are the best looking and most secure computers today. Let me ask you this, do you want your computer open to 114,000+ viruses a day? Sure, the laptop is cheap but they charge highly if you get a virus and Windows all ways add on something which you don't need but this is thier way of getting money. The most high end Windows laptops actually catch fire! A conference in japan to discuss the sell business and the product review of a new Dell laptop resulted with people screaming, running for cover because the laptop got so overheated (by only using word) and exploded showering glass and circutry everywhere. Also, has Windows ever come up with a new OS than 5 year old XP? Apple is about to release Leopard next week and that includes so much more in extras and applications. You can run Windows on your Apple, and that means twice the gaming power and twice the applications. Leopard also helps the user to upload Windows even easier than before. Apples are now very fast ahem, let me rephrase that, they are incrediably fast! They surpass every computer when it comes to speed. Their graphics chip is updated and even the higher end Windows/Dell/Toshiba computer can't even come close to render so much graphics on goregous display. Apples come in bueatiful cases which look sexier than square Dell laptops. Apples don't freeze up or crash and result in your computer to shut down either. Apples are easier to use and can achieve so much compared to Windows. Apples come with iLife '06 which lets you make music, movies, websites and DVDs which look like professional. Can Windows do that? Yes but to a basic extent.

So we see that Apples run faster, don't crash, don't have 114,00+ viruses, don't crash, don't freeze up and most importantly, Don't explode and making it look like a terrorist weapon.

The Mac is the only system that can run OS X, Linux, and Windows, which means they can run more software than OS limited PCs. Vista, if it's better than it's supposed to be, won't be as good as Tiger, the current version of OS X. By the time Vista is out, Leopard will be out for Macs, and it will be better than Tiger. Macs are very secure, as long as you don't run Windows on them, and OS X is much easier to use, because things just work on them. Don't take my word for it though, go to an Apple store and spend some time using one. Ask them to show you how to install software and hardware on a Mac. You'll be amazed at how easily things work compared to Windows.

Oh, and the Macbook comes with lots of things you'll pay extra for on a PC. Duo Core processors, and software like iLife (no real PC equivalent) to name just two.

Because they can run Windoze and Mac, so it's like getting 2 systems in one. See the Get a Mac ads for more reasons.

Because a Mac taste better than the Whopper or 1/4 lb Jack. And besides, a Big Mac is an even better value with fries along with a gallon size cup of Coke.

You shouldn't. You're not getting your money's worth. Nowadays, Macs have improved to the point that, as far as quality goes, it's a toss up between Macs and good-quality Windows laptops. So if the quality's equal, why should you pay more for Mac?

Just to add some details based on what others have said...
"The Mac is the only system that can run OS X, Linux, and Windows, which means they can run more software than OS limited PCs." -a common argument, and no one's ever given a good reason to have all three unless you're a programmer or running a major database or anything like that.

"By the time Vista is out, Leopard will be out for Macs, and it will be better than Tiger." -no one's ever offered evidence for which is better; heck, no one's ever offered criteria to judge this on.

"Macs are very secure, as long as you don't run Windows on them" -a second ago weren't you saying being able to run Windows is an advantage? And now you're saying running Windows is a disadvantage?

"OS X is much easier to use, because things just work on them." -opinion, and I've never had anything be the least bit difficult on XP.

"Oh, and the Macbook comes with lots of things you'll pay extra for on a PC. Duo Core processors" -MacBook Duo Core Lowest Price: $2500; PC Duo Core Lowest Price: $1000. You were saying? (source: smarter.com and tigerdirect.com)

"Good for editing" -I've had plenty of luck editing in Windows. Editing is more a software issue than a brand name.

"can NEVER EVER get a virus or spyware" -psh, completely downright false.

"Now run on Intel proceesors(cant spell)" -and Windows always has; how is that a benefit?

"They prices are as high as they were before" -Still same hardware specs as a computer of HALF its price

"Cuz apple makes them" -so if you like getting stuff from a company with horrible customer support and a record of trying to ripoff its consumers (the original iPod's battery, anyone?), then the Macbook's for you.

The best choice is always a Mac. Apple uses superior hardware in every Macintosh. The main difference? Macs have a much better design, in my opinion. The MacBook is very durable. MagSafe will save your computer from a fall should someone trip over the power cord. There's also the Sudden Motion Sensor, which will park the hard drive's heads if the system detects a fall taking place, a feature that only Apple provides. There's also the built in iSight camera, which has a much higher resolution than the web cameras seen on PCs. The glossy wide-screen display is beautiful, to say the least. The audio hardware is great, with hybrid analog/digital/optical input/output. Let's not forget the built-in AirPort Extreme (802.11g) and Bluetooth. Now let's move on to software... It's the only notebook on the market that can run Mac OS X and Windows XP, but let's focus on Mac OS X, the most advanced operating system in the world. Don't let people tell you that Macs are less prone to viruses because it's lack of users or low market share. This isn't true. It's actually due to the Mac's UNIX underpinnings. Here's an article explaining exactly why Mac OS X is more secure than Windows XP:

http://weblog.infoworld.com/enterprisemac/archives/2006/08/is_windows_inhe.html

There's also the myth that there's a lack of software for Mac. This, again, is not true. There may be millions of calendar programs for the PC, but how many of them are worth using? Maybe two or three? Simply put, crap doesn't survive in the Mac market. Most of the software available to Mac is much better than it's PC counterpart. You can find Mac software for just about anything. There's also a lot of great open source applications, due to Mac's close relationship to other open source UNIX-based operating systems. There are many great features to talk about when it comes to Mac OS X, but it would take me forever to tell you about them. There's just so many, like built-in system-wide spellchecking, as you type. A system-wide dictionary that can be invoked in any application with a few simple key strokes. You can search your entire system instantly with Spotlight. It comes in handy when you have thousands of files to search through. The results come up as soon as you type a letter. :-) These are just a few of the thousands of great things you'll find in Mac OS X. It's crazy how many great things Mac OS X can do. Take it from me, I've been using Mac for two years and I'm still finding features that amaze me. Get a Mac, you'll love it.

If you have any specific questions about Mac, just send me an e-mail. I'm always glad to help a switcher.

All of the above was copied and pasted from one of my previous answers on the same topic. Allow me to debunk some of shadowdog87's erroneous statements.

First, about being able to run Mac OS X, Linux and Windows. Let me say this, Mac OS X is by far the most advanced of the three. If you do most of your computing on Mac OS X, like I, and still want to play a few PC games now and then, it's a great idea.

He said that "no one has ever offered evidence for which is better" in terms of Windows and Mac OS X? Why, here's a link to a site which did a thorough comparison, giving a score of 642 out of 920 for Mac OS X and only 565 out of 920 for Windows XP Home.

http://www.xvsxp.com/finalscore/

Macs are secure, EVEN if you run Windows on them. Your Mac partition can't be harmed by Windows malware, as Windows doesn't know how to read Mac formatted drives.

Yes, with a Mac, everything just works. As far as XP, you're lying. Anyone who's ever used XP knows that there are problems. One way or another, you're going to see a problem using Windows XP. If you don't, it's because you have no life and plenty of time to keep all of your malware protection up to date. I, personally, don't have time for that ****.

$2,500!? Where the hell did you get that price? The MacBook starts at $1,099. Get a clue, read a book.

Editing? Again, are you kidding me? Windows doesn't have **** for editing software. It's all crap. Windows Movie Maker isn't even on the same planet as iMovie.

Can "NEVER EVER" get malware? You're putting words in my mouth. There have been a few viruses for the Mac, but just that, a few... but NOT HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS! The few Mac viruses that have been discovered aren't running around in the wild, wreaking havoc on Mac users. If you want to learn a thing or two about Mac security, read the article in the link above.

What'd the big deal about the Intel processor? Let's see Microsoft move Windows over to an entirely different platform in less than a year. They couldn't do it. They couldn't even push out Vista in less than five years. (And as you've stated, Windows has always run on Intel! Now that's funny!) That aside, I'd say Mac OS X makes much better use of the Intel chip than any Windows PC.
(By the way, if you had a Mac, it would have corrected your spelling.)

Pricing... Macs use superior hardware, that's a fact, and Apple has already proven that it's systems are much cheaper than, or on par with, a similarly configured Dell system.

Horrible support? Apple's support is ranked very high. Apple's products are constantly rated higher than PC systems in Consumer Reports. If Apple is so terrible, then why does it have the highest customer loyalty of ANY brand name known to man?

You want to talk about batteries? What bout Dell? Most people realize these days that batteries are usually made by other companies (in most recent cases, Sony).

Don't toy with me PC boy, I know my Macs.

As far as I know if you want sleek multimedia editing...go with a Mac.
If you want efficiency and business-like operating system...go with a laptop that offers Windows XP/Windows Vista.
