how do i adjust the tension bar for the cam chain on a suzuki vl800?

"quad" is dead on, these are automatic. If you think it needs tightening, because of noise or something else, it means the chain is been stretched (doubtfull) or one of the tensioners has failed and the chain is making noise.

The cam chain tensioners are automatic. They are not adjustable.
