Berber carpets contain wool so be careful with any oxiclean or all color bleaches. Test them in a corner and wait till the next day to see if the area is still OK. Marker is usually waterbased so best to try to get the largest part out with soap and warm water. If a hint of color remains, it is then that you might need to use a gentle bleach like oxiclean or hydrogen peroxide. Rinse really well after the stain goes. Do not leave too much residue on wool.

Try using Oxyclean. Let it soak for a few minutes then wipe with an old cloth. Also, Non-Aerosol Hair Spray: treat stained area with non-aerosol hairspray and blot with a clean white towel. Repeat as many times as necessary to remove ink. I know it sounds weird but the hairspary worked for me but it was a new ink stain.

Clean it with straight rubbing alcohol. I usually just fill my hand held carpet shampooer with rubbing alcohol and it gets it out pretty quick. You'll probably have to do it two or three times in a row to get it all out, but it works!

Resolve brand spot remover pulled red ballpoint pen ink right out of mine. Apply directly and blot with paper towels until you are removing no more blue.

Depending on the color of the carpet, you could try non-aerosol hairspray. You might have to repeat the treatment several times.
