That is a question I often ask myself. They are seen as heroes if they can go out there and get some and a lot of some. We girls are called sl^ts etc if we do the same.

I guess it may be a mind thing. Males are seen as the more dominant species (not for much longer hehe) and therefore it is ok for them to get away with things that girls can't.

That or they have a very immature mentality that what they are doing is ok for them to do but not for us to do. If we weren't sl^tty as they are who would they sleep with.

First off, it's not okay.... good men are responsible, and do not "conquer" anyone that crosses their paths....however finding a good man is, in itself, another quest....
Having said all of that, our society has always had that double-edged sword. It's okay, or accepted for men to sleep around, and talk about sleeping around. It makes us "Manly"...yuck And women who sleep around are trashy, and not marriage material. Similarly, no one like a drunk man, but everyone hates a drunk woman.
Now on the other side, it's okay for woman to kiss each other when they meet, whereas men have to shake hands. Woman can dance together, but men would be taken outside and beaten for doing the same. Men aren't supposed to cry, but its okay for the ladies.
These are are all characteristics from the straight world, and most of us gay or not, were raised in a heterosexual household... so now that there are more non-traditional homes with children, perhaps those stereotypes will change, or at least there will be more tolerance of our neighbors.... Thanks for the great question.

Welcome to the male-dominated society. Supposedly, it's ok for guys to go out and "conquer" while women are meant to obey and/or wait on, for their man. The great thing about the American society is that although you may be judged by your peers for what you do, they aren't the end all, be all as far as the direction of your life. Basically, you are your own person and you can do what you feel and you can completely reject the ideals of society and still be a productive member of said society. It's not that easy in other countries.

Do you and be yourself. :-)
