Well, you really stirred up a lot of bile here.
Did you really intend that?
It's possible that many, even most, of Muslim women wish that they didn't have to wear the thing but feel compelled to do because they accept a certain set of beliefs.
It's a bit like how you choose your dress to conform to western standards of decency (I suppose you do, anyway!). It is a divisive thing, it clearly makes a 'them' and 'us' statement. But who the 'them' is and who the 'us' is doesn't really depend on where we live. It depends on what we believe. So, what those who want the women to remove the veil really are saying is that they want them to believe as we do. Is that something you want? To constrict someone else's belief system? It seems that is exactly what some of the Answerers on here want.
Of course, they don't want their own beliefs challenged.
Although a little insulting, yours was a good question. It turned over the stones and we can see clearly what has crawled out.

Are you serious? Maybe you - and most of the mindless sheep that have given answers to this one - have been caught up in the whirlwind of media fervour that aims to strike fear into the hearts of, well, everyone. I'm sick of hating Communism - we need something different. The flavour of the day now is Muslims, so let's all be scared of them. After all, every Muslim wants to kill the rest of the world, surely?
If you're not strong-minded enough to think for yourself then don't bother opening your mouth, because all you'll do is spread the bullsh*t that Big Brother wants you to. Do you want to be controlled or make your own decisions?

I don't know why, do you perhaps need to get out more and broaden your world so you are not so compelled to write a question every time you see something that is different from you. I think the headgear with the eye slits looks really scary and intimidating. They look like they belong to some KK clan. It's a wonder little kids aren't scared out of their wits."Hoodies" aren't allowed inside some public places because their faces can't be seen so why should Muslims dressed in this type of headgear be allowed?

i find them very rude, if they live here then they should try to fit in a bit more. muslim countries require all women to cover up even english ones so they should do the same for us (not cover up but dress more like us... a face atleast would be nice.).
it makes recognising them very hard when they all look the same like a ninja and you walk past all you see is a pair of eyes following you out of their eye slit.

Hi I dont agree with taking the piss out of them, BUT..........if they MUST live in our country "GOOD OLD GREAT BRITAIN JUST WALK ALL OVER US" (AGAIN ONLY MY VIEW) Why the hell dont they follow our rules, I dont mind them being here but why dont they want to fit in with us, If they dont want to be associated with us why do they live here???????
