Wow! You really dust the carpet with fake snow? That's neat!!!
Any way, since you seem to have a "snow" theme going on, maybe you can frost the windows and the tips of the Christmas tree and use lots and lots of white lights with the white cords to make everything glisten. Maybe ,also, you can get one of those Nature Sounds CD's that have just music, but includes the sounds of wind, snow falling from branches and sleigh bells. I have one, it's a few years old, but I'm sure they're around.
Have fun.......I'll add more later as it comes to me. I am a decorator.
Ooh....how about white sparkling garlands and white boa's and maybe one of those strobe lamps that spin and make patterns on the wall, try to find one that makes a snowflake pattern. Also, light, light blue fabric, like velvet or satin would give that icey feel.

I Love Your Idea Of Fake Snow On The Floor Or Carpet. One Thing I Know Children Love And You Will To Is To Make A Real Gingerbread House, Decorated With White Icing As Snow, Gumdrops Of Many Colors On The House And The Walkway Leading Up To The House. Build This On A Covered Piece Of Cardboard. If You Have A Large Separate Freezer That Opens From The Top You Can Keep This Adorable Creation Created By You And Your Little Ones From Year To Year Or Make A New One Each Christmas And Come Up With New Decorating Ideas. Another Idea Build A Christmas Village Or Animated Christmas Decorations In Your Front Window. Use The Snow As A Base Over Green Felt. Add Tiny White Lights Throughout. At Night This Is A Beautiful Display. People Will Be Slowing Down Their Cars To Admire Your Ingenuity.

I like to hang Christmas ball's from the ceiling. I take green and red apples an cut out the the top and halfway through the apple and put tea light candles in them. I paint a winter scene on my window. keeping the lighting down low on Christmas eve using candles and have little center pieces of pine cones and tree boughs with some lights (the little battery operated strings) and glitter just a little on the cones. I make certain the house smells like cinnamon. Stocking place settings and Christmas mugs filled with hot chocolate and Irish cream whipped topping and a little candy cane.

My all-time favorite decoration is one I came up with on a whim. It's for a Christmas tree skirt that looks like drifting snow. First get a blue bedsheet and wrap it loosely aroung the tree. Then use off-white lace curtains (or tablecloths, but I use curtains) and wrap them around the tree over the blue sheet. Layer different amounts in different places. Some places you see a hint of blue coming through, others you don't see any. It looks beautiful, especially if you do your tree in all white lights.
I have yet to find a tree skirt I like this much at a store!

I heard a great idea from an actress who was being interviewed...can't remember who...but she said at their house, the tree is decorated only with lights, but as each present is unwrapped, the person puts the ribbon from the present on the tree, so they decorate it as they open gifts...kind of makes the opening last longer, and everyone shares in decorating....i think i would have to compromise on that one, though, and have some decorations already, but plenty of space for the ribbons to be added to 'complete' the tree. ...and you gotta have a real tree...for good smelling decorations, go old fashioned and get apples and oranges and stick cloves into them all over...the spice preserves the fruit so it lasts a while, and the smell is great.

Since you already use snow, why not go with snowmen/women/families? There are lots of them out and there are some really neat ones. I happen to have a small collection I put out every year and leave through the winter.

Fake snow on the floor sounds cool. I always put it on my tree. Try a snowman theme.

i put white lights around my bar and theres a support pole in the middle of the room so i put them around it too, you could also put garlands with pine cones or poinsettas around your room, maybe some snow on the windows and some of those clingy window thingsa centerpeice for your table and table cloth and placemats would look nice, and of course some mistletoe
