Think to your self=what does a fishing Pole look like, now see too that this is an older solid Fiberglas fishing pole,(Heavier) now look at the fact that the bottom is five times thicker than the top.(5 to 6 ft long, 5/8th to 3/4 point head tailing five ft long down to 0 on the trailing end) as you walk through a forest of small straight growth of saplings you'll start to see these better ones, cut and dry and they will be as many as ten to a hand full in your off side hand and in your throwing hands you hold one heavy end forward and hand pointed, you then work you way as close to your target and throw as many as you can into the animal before it can run, this was duplicated and improved by a foot long socketed spear thrower and it increased the velocity, but was a more modified than a spear and was more Aborigine that American

If you have access to bamboo you can cut the end at an angle. This would make the a perfect spear without any add-ons. Us thinner bamboo for fishing spears by also cutting the end at an angle and adding notches next to the tip so that a speared fish cannot escape. It may not be good for throwing but it will do the job.

There are several ways. Using sharp rocks (flint is best)
The quickest way is to find and cut a long stick about 6 ft. Be sure it is as straight as you can get it. Build a fire using flint or rubbing a stick together real fast into a ball of dried moss or grass until it smolders enough to blow it into a flame for the fire.).
take the spear and heat it to about burned after sharpening it, This will harden the spear. You don't have ot harden the spear, but it's best . because wooly mamoth skin is tough:).
Or if you want to get technical you can use flint or any rock chipped down to a fine and sharp point. attach it to your spear with wet tough vines or animal hide. You can take down anything wiht this if you have the courage.
Other things which you can use for a spear head is deer horns(after you find or kill your first), or reeds,

Am I missing a point? Making a spear would make it a man made object. (unless it were made by a female, but I HOPE you aren't that nit picky!)

But, looking at the category, perhaps you are fashioning a sculpture by gathering natual objects and assembling them.

In that case, you can find any stone, longer than it is wide, or perhaps a piece of "blade" shaped bark. Find some flexible, green straw to tie it to a relatively straight shaft.
