My son is 10 months old and cries when ever there are people around (yes even people he knows) no matter where we are. then he wants to be held by myself or his father. I know about stranger anxiety, is this apart of it too?

Perfectly normal, it's a big world for babies to get use to. Don't try to force your son to interact with others though, as this will only cause more anxiety. Keep introducing him to people and leave it up to him when he is ready to interact. It might be a pain in the but but he should eventually come around.

Just have to ask though, are all other activities normal, developmentally wise? If not you may want to see your doctor just to be sure there is no chance of autism. Chances are slim that it would be, but it may ease your mind.

stranger anxiety is a concept that a child of that age isn't capable of having learned yet. It is too advanced for a young child.

I have yet to see a baby that didn't have times like this. It is normal. Your child is just trying to find a comfort level of security. It is a rather basic part of learning to live in his environment. Time will cure it.

Actually adults do the same thing in environment we don't understand. We just react with different cultural rules than a baby.

This is very normal for your son. He is going through his separation anxiety phase. Even though he might know the people around him he still just wants his Mommy and Daddy. You are his constant in his life. You are always there. And you give him everything he needs to survive in this life. Enjoy this time in your son's life because it won't last very long.

I think he is just used to being around theperson he trusts the most. Like his mother. I was like this too, when i was a baby. About 10 mths. He will get over it soon.

My son did that too, he would cry around his grandparents even, I mean loud and go hysterical. I was really worried, but he grew out of it now, he's 2 1/2

Socialize him more, try to have a different person bottle feed him, too.

He's 10 months, he'll grow out of it soon.
