All my life I wanted to be a pilot, and I was going to join the air force but I couldn't meet a few requirements. So I gave up on that dream. Now I'm in college and I'm majoring in electrical engineering for some reason. And I was thinking about changing to an aviation major. Would that let me become a pilot or is that major for like maintenance jobs?

Well, here's a long shot:

Learn to fly a hang glider. It's the flyingest flying you could ever do (according to Neil Armstrong, who's flown everything under the sun and took up hang gliding in his 70s). I totally agree -- I know I love it. It costs some money initially for lessons and equipment, and it takes some dedication, but if you've always liked to fly, there's nothing like foot-launching your own aircraft off a mountain, flying into lifting air, and circling skywards like a bird. I often launch at 4,000 foot elevation and climb to 8,000 feet with the help of my vario -- an electronic instrument attached to my control frame that lets me know if I'm in lifting or sinking air, and I set my turns accordingly.

And the best part is you're not inside some aluminum box with noisy motors. All is quiet, except for the whoosh of your wing's leading edge parting the air, and you are completely out in the open air, looking straight down at the earth far below.

I dont have the ans. you require, however I suggest you inquire from people related to that trade, but I can only incourage you to pursue your goal and being a pilot seems to be it.Perhaps those few requirments you couldnt meet will change for you as you mature.Go for it with a vigor and while I dont believe in luck I suggest you make your own.
