Simple enough question, but I've never been able to figure out WHY someone would WANT to take another persons life.Theres an aweful story in the UK today about a boy,14 at the time, butchering a young lad of 11.WHY? The cops don't know. They are baffled as to the motive.
So does anyone have any idea what it is that makes us humans the only speicies on the planet that kills for the hell of it?

This is a very distressing question.
It seems the world is edging closer to a point when standards will sink to an ever deeper low, such stories will become almost commonpace.
I know it is fashionable to blame the media, but to be honest, they have much to answer for.
TV spews forth a diet of violence and street-fighting with virtually every news broadcast.
Hollywood pours out countless hours of violence, providing a constant diet of unreality for youhg impressionable minds to devour.
This feast of blood and gore slowly eats away at a vunerable person's mentality until they reach the point where they cannot tell the difference between right and wrong.
Their sense of reality becomes blurred.
Society itself is to blame, for surely the time has arrived when we must call a halt and begin to clear the airways of such things.

How many hours do you have to spend reading the answers, hypothesis, beliefs and the explanations that can arise here from your question?

Given full rein, I don't doubt there area few (worth reading out of the many who could write their answers) who could pour out chapter after chapter ~ beyond the pages after pages ~ of answers. I wonder which (or how many) would give you an answer you felt satisfied with!

There are many reasons for Why one person kills another. Many are the same as their neighbours answer, but the contributing reasons, the colour and shading of them - the contextual and the organic growth of the subjective rational for such actions, or the belief in the right to perform such an action, are individually unique - I believe.

In some respects, it is not dissimilar from trying to determine whether someone (for want of another more accurate word) is crazy, or 'was crazy at the time s/he did this or that.'

Sash.

personally i think its disgusting what that 14yrs old boy done to the poor young lad, taking his life just coz he probably didn't like him is no excuse. i have a 14 yr old son myself and if he ever done anything like that i would be totally ashamed of him. and would never be able to forgive him, but however i know that my son and my other children wouldn't do anything like that. i think personally that it comes down to basic value u have on another person and yourself, and the respect you give to yourself and everyone you meet and the morals you hold for yourself and others, if parents can install that in their children then i am sure they will grow up to be fine law abiding citizens, but unfortunately in this world their are far too many children walking around that don't know right from wrong and think that they can take the law into their own hands and now worry about the consequences. All of us have desperately wicked hearts and our righteousness is as dirty rags to a holy God. That is why people sin at all levels. Thank God for Jesus who shed his blood to save us and give us right standing with God. His blood makes us holy and his spirit changes us on the inside.
Romans 3:23 All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
Romans 6:23 The wages of sin is death but thegift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.

I think that killing is glorified , it is on the TV every day on computer games & cinema . People belive everything they see and think it is real. They cant seperate reality from fiction and dont think of the concequences of there actions
