It probably better than on her back as that can create nerve impingement's through her back.
There is no way in the world that her sleeping on her stomach could stop a baby growing. No way. I did and my daughter was fine. I did stop after a while when I turned into a see saw.
If it is lack of room that you are thinking about well think how the baby will carry on growing when it is a 6, 7, 8, month foetus and is packed and squashed more than a sardine in tin can ever was.
If what you believe is what you believe why are you asking for other advice? Let your girlfriend sleep how she likes and maybe read a bit about how protected and safe the baby is in her.

If you dont care what the doctor says then why should you care what a load of strangers say? A woman who is pregnant may sleep in any position that is comfortable for her, as time goes on she will sleep on her side as this will be more comfortable. You must remember the baby is protected by a fluid and will continue to grow whatever. Stop worying so much!

hey,
try not to worry the baby is protected while it is in the womb and being as she is only 13 weeks the baby has loads of room to move around in. i am pregnant however im only 10 weeks and i lay on my belly however it is getting uncomftable for me as my belly is hard which is another reason why the baby wont get harmed. i understand your worries as my partner is the same with me about everything i do however sometimes its better to let the woman do as she likes because in a few months she will be irrtable and wont be able to sleep on her belly or on her sides and can be very fustrting
hope this helps!!!!

oh dont worry if she sleeps on her belly it wont stop the baby growing and soon enough she wont be able to sleep on her tummey there will be a big bump preventing her doing it. honestly ive had 3 kids and slept in all kinds of ways just to get some sleep and it never done any of my kids any harm. so plz dont worry urself she and the baby will be fine sleeping in which ever position is most comfy. and congratulaions and good luck on the new baby. when the baby does come sleeping will be a thing of the past. you wont get any lol

Sleeping on her belly right now isn't any more dangerous than sleeping on her sides or back. The reason pregnant women don't sleep on their bellies is because after a certain point - we can't! It's physically imposible!
When she gets past the 18th week or so, it's her BACK she shouldn't be sleeping on as her circulation will be compromised by her growing uterus. Let her sleep on her belly while she still can.

It's really okay for the baby (it's the mom who has a hard time getting comfortable with it) When I was 7 months pregnant, my dh and I went to Hawaii and he would dig holes in the sand for me so I could lay in the sun on my stomach comfortably. She's gonna be okay...really. I've done it a lot of times and it's always been alright for the baby.

Sleeping on her belly is fine as long as she isn't showing much...however when she really starts showing, she won't be able to sleep on her tummy comfortably.
Don't worry, she isn't doing any damage to the baby. You guys should talk to the doc on her next visit. He/she will be able to reassure you that she isn't hurting the baby in any way.
She really should start learning now how to sleep on her left side though. That will make it much easier to do once she reaches the stage where it is impossible to sleep on her stomach.

I'm 35 weeks with our second, I slept on my tummy until I couldn't any longer as I rocked like a see-saw (lol) and I can't wait to have this one so I can go back to sleeping that way. Sleeping on your back is worse as you go on, as the baby and uterus put too much pressure on your back.
Best position is on your left hand side apparently - optimal for the placenta to work, and they advise it for optimal foetal position (from 34 weeks)
My son sleeps on his front all the time too now. You're best to leave her alone and let her sleep however she wants to and get some sleep yourself!!!! You won't care how either of you sleep in a few months time, believe me!

She can sleep on her stomach. The baby will still grow. When the baby gets to a certain size it will becume uncomfortable for her to slepp on her stomach. I am 17 weeks and every now and then i sleep on my stomach well kinda of propped with my leg because it is starting to be uncomfotable. Don't worry they will both be okay.
