So many parents afraid of the school shootings going on? I mean, I'm in High School, and I feel perfectly safe... and even if some crazy guy starts shooting everyone, It's probably like three minuets untill he gets taken out, and the students and teachers have a drill that makes the school look empty within one or two minuets.

As a parent, I am very concerned about this topic. When you are a dad someday you will understand it more, even if it is just 5 minutes in a school, you wouldn't want your child to be one of the victims.
I went to high school in the 80's and we never had these things happen. The world is getting worse by the day, so you can't take for granted that children are safe in schools these days. You have to put yourself in the other students shoes....there are kids that have seen their classmates/friends die and it stays in their minds.

Parents are afraid because of the media coverage. Have you not noticed how the media does a better job of terrorizing you presenting their point of view on issues than the actual issue itself?

They might be scared because this is not normal; maybe in today's age and generation it is but really it's not
