Well it depends on the Breed of dog. Some dogs are highly intelligent and others well they arent so intelligent. I having been around dogs my entire life have had both. I have also had a pet pig and that pig was by far the smartest dog I have ever owned.

actually, pigs are highly intelligent, however, i'm not sure which is smarter a pig or a dog. i know a pigs nose is better than a dogs.

without a dought, a pig! an onker comes in #2 or 3 on the list and.....they do use pigs to sniff out drugs. law enforcement got this idea when they learned that the only way to get a certain type of mushroom is when wild pigs root them up due to their special snouts. more so...I raised several pigs, (white strapeds) and had one that I trained just like a dog. his name was pork chop because that's why I bought him in the first place but he was sooo smart that I left him out of the pen so he could sleep on he front porch,onk and toss a fit when some one was comming up my 1/4 mile drive, he would go with me when I irrigated, he would attack on command and do all the dogie tricks a dog could do and I trained he with OREO's.

I watched a show on Discovery a few weeks ago. It said Apes are the most intelligent animals, followed by Dolphins, then pigs then dogs. If you have ever raised a pig, they are startlingly intelligent.

They are both invertebrates. Invertebrates have large brains and keen senses. I think a dog is smarter because it can learn tricks and find its way back home. But pigs are real smart too!
