Is there somewhere that I can check public records to see how my deed has been recorded without a fee? I am recently divorced and have filed an interspousal transfer and want to see how it was recorded. I am in Los Angeles County.

THANKS!

Great answers....is there any place online that I can do this without a fee? Going to the County Recorder does not sound like an appealing process.

Gosh, NOT City Hall, but the office of the County Recorders office, that is where Deeds are recorded!

So just look up the Los Angeles County Recorders Office and either call for further help, or walk on in and have a clerk show you how to look up the information yourself, it's really not that hard to do!

Am sure this will help, so good luck on all this, and good luck to you after your divorce!

it appears that LA county wants money for this information. You can go down to the court house and look at it, or pay the fee. Sorry.

All deeds are on file at the county office where the property is.

most people can find out that information at their county court house and it should cost very little to nothing at all.
