Yes. Nixon and Agnew were elected in 1972 (re-elected). Angew resigned in 1973. Ford was appointed as Vice President by Nixon and approved by Congress pursuant to the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, enacted after JFK was killed. (Before that, if the Vice President died or resigned the office was just left vacant.) I think Ford was a Republican leader in the House.
When Nixon resigned in 1974, Ford became President. He appointed, and Congress approved, Nelson Rockefeller, former NY governor, as VP.
It was the only time in our history that those offices were filled by two different people at the end of the term than at the start.

He was the Vice President to Nixon.
"When Gerald R. Ford took the oath of office on August 9, 1974, he declared, "I assume the Presidency under extraordinary circumstances.... This is an hour of history that troubles our minds and hurts our hearts."
It was indeed an unprecedented time. He had been the first Vice President chosen under the terms of the Twenty-fifth Amendment and, in the aftermath of the Watergate scandal, was succeeding the first President ever to resign. "

Gerald Ford was appointed vice-president after Spiro Agnew resigned. Agnew resigned because of some income tax evasion and money laundering charges that he pleaded no contest, too. Once Nixon resigned Ford became president though he was elected to neither office.

confident although Nixon resigned & in no way impeached. Ford grew to alter into vice-president after Agnew resigned. He replaced into no longer voted into the two workplace. He replaced into voted into Congress for 25 years. He got here very close to to beating Carter and conserving the workplace of President, yet people who have been disillusioned approximately his pardon of Nixon at that element in all probability comprehend now how important it replaced into to pass on after Watergate.

Nixon, first off.
Secondly, anyone could run for President. I could if I wanted to... well, when I turned 35. I wouldn't get much support. Anyone, as long as they are American born, can run for the office of the President. Like Arnold Schwarzenegger, he can't run for Prez. Ever. Because he is Austrian-born.
